A brief history of IOP Conference Series
The first IOP Conference Series title, Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS), was launched in August 2004 and rapidly proved to be extremely popular with physics communities worldwide. In less than 7 years JPCS has published over 300 proceedings volumes, including some of the largest and most prestigious events in physics.
Building on the success of JPCS, the scope of IOP Publishing's proceedings has been extended with the addition of IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) and IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES).
How does this site relate to IOPscience?
The titles within the IOP Conference Series all continue to be formally published via IOPscience, taking full advantage of the visibility and services available through our journal platform. conferenceseries.iop.org is designed to provide a platform for services and information resources which are specific to the needs of conference publishing.
